At the 2010 NBASRA recognized both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal individuals who have assisted our organization or Aboriginal sport in the past. We are proud to recognize the following individuals:

Jason Peters, Wellness, Culture and Sport – Mr. Peters is the Government of New Brunswick’s Consultant for Aboriginal Sport and Recreation. Jay was seconded from Aboriginal Affairs in 2007 to administer the Aboriginal Sport Bilateral. He has gone far and beyond by assisting the NBASRA with logistics, guidance and time.            

Grant Sinclair, Wellness, Culture and Sport – Mr. Sinclair has been the Government of New Brunswick’s consultant assigned to the portfolio of Aboriginal Sport and Recreation since 2000. Grant has helped guide both the MMSRC and the NBASRA. Grant was a Mission Staff member on Team NB staff that attended the 2002 North American Indigenous Games in Winnipeg.

Ruth Levi, 2008 Team NB Chef de Mission – Ms. Levi lead the 2008 contingent from NB at the North American Indigenous Games. As a first time volunteer Chef her leadership was tested early and often. Ruth passed each test with flying colours.

Roger Duval, Wellness, Culture and Sport – Mr. Duval is the Government of New Brunswick’s Director of Sport and Recreation. Roger’s leadership has lead to the signing of the Aboriginal Bilateral Agreement which has lead to the development of the First Nation Sport Authorities in NB.

Manon Ouellette, Coach NB – Manon/Coach NB has worked closely with the NBASRA is offer the Aboriginal Coaching Manual workshops and this the 3rd NB Investors Group Aboriginal Coaching Seminar.

Lindsay Sparks, Sport New Brunswick – Lindsay and Sport New Brunswick have assisted the NBASRA in recognizing their finest athletes and coaches. Each year the NBASRA present the Tom Longboat and New Brunswick Aboriginal Coaching Awards on the provinces largest stage the Pitney Bowes Sport NB Awards.
