The New Brunswick Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Authority (NBASRA) is looking for qualified hockey coaches will oversee team selection, training, supervision, and guidance of athletes attending the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC). The Team NB coaching staff are required to abide by the policies and regulations developed by the NBASRA, the Aboriginal Sport Circle and the respective NAHC Host.

The NBASRA is now accepting applications from Aboriginal coaches for the Coaching positions with Team New Brunswick. All applicants must be of Aboriginal ancestry (First Nation, Metis, Inuit). The Head coach must possess a minimum of the new Coach or Development 1 level (equivalent to old Intermediate Level) coaching certification.

Each Assistant Coach will have at minimum the new Coach level. Applicants need to provide their updated coaching experience/resume, as well as their coaching philosophy. Each team must possess at least one coach that is the same gender as the athletes being coached.

The NBASRA’s NAHC Selection Committee will select one Head Coach for the male team and one Head Coach for the female team. All coaching staff must have taken the Aboriginal Coach Manual course prior to the event. All positions are volunteer.
